Every centrifugal brake or pawl must be replaced at some point. For material hoists and warehouse elevators, this must be done every five years; for passenger/goods hoists,transport platforms and industrial elevators the period is four years. A centrifugal brake includes various parts that can wear or be affected by external influences. Replacing the centrifugal brake is beneficial to the operational safety but ultimately also ensures continuity on a project.
